"Chuck" by Sum 41

Sum 41, usually thought of as a "Bratty, snide, SoCal punk/hard rock band"(ironically they're from Canada), put out their most mature album to date, titled Chuck. Sum 41 was in the Republic of Congo in 2004 when war broke out, and a man named Chuck brought them to safety. In return, they dedicated the album title to him, and dedicated the lyrics to subjects as humanity and a world gone wrong. I think you guys should check this out when you have a chance(unfortunately, I couldn't find anywhere online to do so).
Recommendations: "No Reason," "Pieces," and "The Bitter End."

Pandora Internet Radio

Basically the best thing since purevolume.

You type in a band -- any band -- and presto! guaranteed it'll find 'em and double presto! it'll play songs by similar artists. It's pretty much my favorite ever.

Perfect Pair

Yesterday me and Amanda saw Bradley Hathaway in Ventura. It was really awesome. But right now I'm going to make fun of Amanda. She was standing so close to him that i just had to make this picture. Really I was in there too, but I cropped myself out. *sniffle* Haha they look so good for each other! Amanda just needs to age about... 10 years at the least and then she'd be perfect for him. But anyways, I just wanted to make fun of her. Mwhaha!!!

Radiohead

Yes, it's another band from the UK. But what seperates Radiohead from other ordinary, run-of-the-mills Britrockers is that they strive to draw listeners into the music. Oh yeah, and frontman Thom Yorke sings falsetto and the music heavily incorporates electronic and jazz. Take one listen to "Everything in Its Right Place" if you think I'm hyping these guys up too much; after said listen: you will know what I'm talking about.

I have their albums Pablo Honey (1995) and The Bends (1997), as well as their best song "Idioteque" off Kid A (2001)...that is, if anyone is interested.

Radiohead on purevolume.
(Note: I wish I could find more links; they have no official MySpace, unfortunately.)

The Shins/Snow Patrol Double Post

The Shins: one of the coolest soft indie bands I've listened to lately. Their newest album Wincing the Night Away, is one of my favorite records lately. Check out "Sleeping Lessons," and "Phantom Limb," to see what I mean. Or, just borrow the album from Matt Nichols. The Shins.

Alright, so unless you've been living in a cave for the past year, chances are you've at least HEARD of Snow Patrol. Their single "Chasing Cars" easily made it's way onto the billboard charts. That isn't to say that Snow Patrol is a fake, MTV ready, punk band like you'd expect. They're actually soft, heartfelt indie rock, and a nice break from everything else. Recommended: "Hands Open," "You're All I Have," and "Chasing Cars." Snow Patrol.
