"Prayer of the Refugee" by Rise Against

Remember this band I posted on way back when? Well, I feel nobody really tried them out, so I'm posting this video and a link to where you can hear the original. This video is an acoustic version of "Prayer of the Refugee," done for AOL's Cover-Up. It's one of RA's strongest, and definitely has a powerful message.

FFH

Ok, so since Mr. Fussy Pants below( cough cough, Ricky) is getting impatient, heres another post. Well I like the band FFH. They're a really old, funny Christian band that i used to listen to. Ok so not funny, but one song is! Their, well i dont really know how to describe it, I guess they're like soft-upbeat music, like pre-Christian wannabe rock. And they also were a loooong time ago, so the style was "in" when they were together, but they're still good, if you like that style.
Ummm they don't have a pure volume, um, cuz they're old...

Life in Your Way

Life in Your Way is one of the catchiest hardcore bands signed to Solid State. They've been at it for a few years now, and with three consistent albums, they're pretty much pros on the hardcore scene, so I recommend listening!
Recommended songs: "Salty Grave," "Making Waves," and "Reach the End."
"...I sink to my salty grave..."

lyrics in music.

so i've been thinking lately...is it ok to listen to music that has cussing or just "inappropriate" lyrical content in it? some people would say:

01. "yes, because a glass can only spill what it contains!"

i, on the other hand think:

02. "if a glass can only spill what it contains, then we need to make sure our spillage(if ever), needs to be at a minimum(or none at all)." i mean, if you 'spill', it means you blow up or yell at someone because they made you mad, but don't you think that we should not blow up on people at all? and why do parents insist that their kids shouldn't listen to music with "explicit" content in it when they let us(well, some of us), watch some R-rated, or even PG-13 rated movies? what's the difference? don't they both contain material that is debatable? (rhetorical questions)

my point is this: movies and music don't have to influence us. i know that some(repeat: SOME) music i listen to is not entirely clean, but i know that the artist who wrote that music has a wrong point of view based on the Bible. i'm gonna leave you at that...please think hard about it and leave a comment with your opinions...
