lyrics in music.

so i've been thinking lately...is it ok to listen to music that has cussing or just "inappropriate" lyrical content in it? some people would say:

01. "yes, because a glass can only spill what it contains!"

i, on the other hand think:

02. "if a glass can only spill what it contains, then we need to make sure our spillage(if ever), needs to be at a minimum(or none at all)." i mean, if you 'spill', it means you blow up or yell at someone because they made you mad, but don't you think that we should not blow up on people at all? and why do parents insist that their kids shouldn't listen to music with "explicit" content in it when they let us(well, some of us), watch some R-rated, or even PG-13 rated movies? what's the difference? don't they both contain material that is debatable? (rhetorical questions)

my point is this: movies and music don't have to influence us. i know that some(repeat: SOME) music i listen to is not entirely clean, but i know that the artist who wrote that music has a wrong point of view based on the Bible. i'm gonna leave you at that...please think hard about it and leave a comment with your opinions...

ooook. um. ok. well like. this would be a lot easier to explain in person. sooo.. i will say. that. its not like OK to fill your mind, eyes, and ears with stuff that isn't ok with God, BUT if your spiritually mature enough then you should know how to monitor that kind of stuff. yeah, i can't really type it out.
as far as parents allowing their kids to watch movies with explicit/inappropriate/whatever you wanna say material, that's between the parents, the children and God. idk.

i think that, at least for me, what comes in ALWAYS comes out. so even if i don't really listen to the music or even if i know that they're wrong and i shouldn't repeat the garbage, it still pops out. so for me its really about monitoring what i listen to/watch, or else, even if i try as hard as i can to prevent it, it will come out. sooo that being said, i donno what works for you but this is what is right for me/God/my parents.
gee that was redundant
anyway to answer your question/comment i don't think its ok to listen/watch explicit material.
