Well, since Matt got to put up his fav band, I thought it was only fair that we all got to! Here's mine(not like anyone cares). I hate the eye-liner, but the music is pretty good. It's kinda pop-punk, into post-grunge. Whatever you say, they're still one of the most popular and influencial bands of our age.

Yeah, I'm not diggin' the eye-liner. BUT the guy on the side looks like a 50 yr. old giraffe. But that says nothing about they're music so don't get offended.

Awww, poor doggy. LUCKY! Why do you have 4 days off, I only have a 3 day weekend. To be honest with you I really don't have a reason to hate Green Day. I haven't really listened to their music.
The thing about them is that they ARE influencial(not to me or you), but to those who don't know what life's worth living for. Like teens who don't know Jesus or have nothing to believe in. The album American Idiot is what's called a "punk rock opera", meaning that the whole album is telling a story. In this case, American Idiot is telling the story of an average american teen who doesn't have anything to believe in, and runs away from all his troubles(hence the song "Holiday"), but finds only more and more troubles along the way(hence "Boulevard of Broken Dreams"). They're music may not be completely original, but they are ranked as the 2nd most influencial bands ever. I promise! If you want proof, try VH1.com/greenday. Maybe that'll clear things up. The lyrics could be cleaner, and I wish they were, but they are still powerful lyrics.
