When I heard all the stuff I have heard about Emery's second full-length album, The Question, I was dissapointed that it wasn't as good as their first full-length, The Weak's End. I, however, didn't take the time to actually listen to the album, because if I did, I would've found out that those statements were, for the most part, false. Though this album isn't as good as The Weak's End, it is still a very good album, something people should come to expect from an artist like Emery. Some say post-punk, others say pre-hardcore -- whatever. I say this is an emo album with mature lyrics and heartfelt/emo singing. Plus, the guitars on this album, as well as on The Weak's End, are very original and just downright awesome. So, even if you like TWE more, check out The Question. It's definitely worth it.
Recommended listens: "So Cold I Could See My Breath," "Studying Politics," "Returning the Smile You Had From the Beginning," and "Listening to Freddie Mercury." And also check out The Weak's End. Both these albums are awesome.

Those statements aren't false. Neither are they true. They are simply the opinions of those who feel the need to express the way they feel about the album. Haha, and of course I like TWE more. From what I've heard of The Question there's not enough screaming, and though their sound is more mature it's also whimpy.
Well, actually, there is still a lot of screaming. Just not in songs like "Studying Politics," but there is some in "So Cold I Could See My Breath." And there's definitely more screaming in the tracks that aren't really advertised, such as "Returning the Smile You've Had from the Start." So yeah, maybe if you want the screaming, dig a little deeper. Also, just because "Studying Politics," has some 'oh-oh's!" that doesn't mean the entire album sounds like that. In fact, it's hardly like that at all. I think Emery did a bad job at advertising the good songs, because "So Cold..." and "Studying Politics," though they're good songs, they're not the best on the CD.
Ok. But Toby's voice sounds old.
Not really, he just has a really good singing voice that sometimes makes it seem like he doesn't belong in an emo/rock band.
ok, Matt, seriously, DID U GET YOUR COMP FIXED?!?!?!? OR JUST ANSWER THIS, HOW IS IT THAT U CAN COME TO THIS BLOG ANYMORE?????
Just because I have no life, I'm going to arugue with you, Matt. I didn't say emo was whimpy. I said their new sound is whimpy, compared to TWE. From what I've heard of The Question I don't like it. But don't get me wrong TWE is very very awesome and I love it and it's one of my all time faves.
Just because I have no life, I'm gonna argue with you, Amanda. What you said wasn't arguing with Matt, that was self-defense. Don't let Matt intimidate you.
I realized after i posted that it was defending me and myself. not arguing. BUT i was too lazy to log in and blah blah blah. so whatever just cuz matt's like 7 feet tall and uses big words doesn't mean he initimidates me.
K, good. It's time for a new post...but I got nothing.
wow yall really get into it when im not around.
